The City of Dayton will hold a General Election on Saturday, May 2, 2020, for the purpose of electing three Council Members for Council Positions 1, 2, and 3.
Below is important information related to the upcoming elections; however for more information, or to obtain a candidate packet, please contact the Dayton City Secretary's Office at 936.258.2642, ext. 1117. or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.Candidate packets are available for pick up during regular business hours at Dayton City Hall. All applications for a place on the ballot will be accepted by the City Secretary during regular business hours.
To run for a position on the Dayton City Council you must meet the following:
Be a resident citizen of the City of Dayton for a period not less than 6 months immediately preceding the election
Be qualified to vote in the State of Texas
Not have a delinquent indebtedness to the City of Dayton
Register to Vote
To be eligible to vote in any May general election you must be registered to vote no later than 30 days prior to the date of the election. If you need to register you may do so in person at the Liberty County Courthouse located at:
